HOME-grown shoe maker, Kong Brothers group, is expanding its overseas business to the Middle East and Europe this year, in its effort to establish self as an international brand.
Its finance and export division manager, Alex Ool, said the company currently exports to Singapore, Brunei and Indonesia, which in total accounted for less than 5% of its revenue.
He expects exports to comprise 20% of its revenue this year on the back of its expansion plans. Kong Brothers group is also the largest shoe wholesaler In Southeast Asia.
“For Europe, we are targeting France and ltaly. We now have a big and comfortable shoe showroom for our dealers to look at our vast array of shoes,” Ool told reporters after the opening ceremony of the Kong Brothers Shoes City showroom in Seri Kembangan yesterday.
He said with the large volume supplies of various in-house designs, Kong Brothers was able to provide shoes for their male and female leather shoes, children’s shoes, industrial safety shoes, casual shoes, sports shoes, slippers and sandals.
The showroom has entered the Malaysia Book of Records as the largest shoe showroom, displaying more than 50,000 different shoe designs on a 21,500 sq ft arms.
